The Challenges
Stage 1 – The Run
In April of 2009 I ran more than 350 miles in 14 days to raise money for Cancer Research UK.
• 5th April: Run the Paris Marathon
• 6th – 17th April: Run 300 miles from Paris to London
• 26th April: Run the London Marathon
However, following a family bereavement over the summer and a friend receiving a set-back in their fight against cancer, together with a desire to do more to help fight the disease I decided to extend the paris2london project.
Stage 2 – The Climb
In the summer of 2010 I will climb two mountains in as short a time period as possible (depending on logistics and flights I’m aiming for a week). I’m planning to climb Mt Damavand (5,610m) in Iran before travelling to Tanzania to conquer Mt Kilimanjaro (5,892m) – a combined height of over 11,500 meters (or over 2,500m more than Mt Everest).
Stage 3 – TBC
I have a few ideas with how to follow this up in 2011 and will release details after completing stage 2. However if anyone has any ideas please let me know and I’ll give them due consideration…
If you would be kind enough to sponsor me I would be incredibly grateful.
It would also be very helpful is if you could help to raise awareness of what I’m doing by letting as many people as possible know about the challenge, as well as joining the facebook group and inviting all your friends!
There will also be a series of events with a paris2ondon theme organised to help raise funds towards the total. These range from sporting competitions & a martial arts award evening to raffles & Fashion Shows and will be described in more detail in the “Events” section as they are organised.
